Final Nominations

Here are the Winter 2010 final round of Indies stories selected based on your votes and that passed our validations.

We've included the author's name, chapter/review count at time of nomination, and story summary to help you work your way through the list. To view the story summary please mouseover the tooltip icon (). To visit the story on the website where it is hosted, please click on the Story Name.

Stories were "locked" at the chapter/review count they had at the time of nomination to account for any increases in readership that could have occurred due to the awards. For this reason, you may see stories that currently have a review count over the 30/chapter average for a work in progress.

We found ourselves in a unique position during the first round of voting. A story which had been nominated and fell well within the validation criteria for a WIP took off. Well, took off was an understatement; you'd have to be living under a rock to have not heard of a sweet little story by the name of An Introduction to Swirl and Daisy. When nominated, it was at 4 chapters and 67 reviews. Not soon after, it took off like a hobbit with a wraith on it's heels...and is currently one of the most talked about work in progress fics active.

In fairness to both the nominees and to the lovely author of An Introduction to Swirl and Daisy, we have created a new category, and very happily bestow it today.

So to m81170, the lovely author of Swirl and Daisy - thank you for writing a wonderful story, and being such a class act. We are excited to give An Introduction to Swirl and Daisy the first ever "The Little Indie that Could!" Award for excellence in pushing the envelope and going beyond. Congrats and thank you for the wonderful story!
